What Have We Become

 that descent into madness that i was joking about (i was kidding)

is becoming our new reality.  

except it isn't madness, 

it is fascism.  

i did not mean for it to be true.  

but maybe deep down,

in the part of my heart, 

where i hide my most frightening thoughts, 

i was scared for the inevitable evil

that is barreling down, 

flooding, 

drowning, 

killing, 

shooting, 

in the streets of Minneapolis,

and the Twin Cities.  

is this the vision portending what is to come, 

across this great nation?
